The EEDI deadline is approaching, and the speed correction method is particularly important. At present, the methods used for speed correction mainly include the Naval Coefficient Method and the BRSA method (currently popular methods, Shanghai Xirui Maritime Technology Co., Ltd. has been fully familiar and adopted), and the method recommended by ISO has not been broadly used. Based on the EXCEL and FORTRAN languages, the revision procedure of this method was developed and compared with the relevant examples in the standard. The EXCLE language is mainly used for conventional speed correction calculations, including wind and wave currents. The FORTRAN language is mainly used to calculate the resistance increase of a ship at a given speed and direction. The principle is obtained by frequency domain slice theory.
In the calculation process of wave resistance increment, it is necessary to use the slicing theory to obtain the value of the increase in the wave resistance, so that the speed correction can be performed according to the whole process. At the same time, according to the calculation of resistance increase and the calculation of propeller open water characteristics, the ship's speed drop under given sea conditions can be obtained, and it can also provide good technical support for the calculation of EEDI coefficient.
