Troubleshooting of Abnormal Noise in Small Transformer Operation

After a small transformer runs for a while, you may find that there is abnormal noise in the operation. Today, we will discuss with you the troubleshooting of this type of failure in small transformers.

Troubleshooting of Abnormal Noise in Small Transformer Operation

JBK3 control transformer

Cause of the fault:

1. Iron core is not tight

2. The power supply voltage is too high

3. Excessive load or short circuit causes vibration

Maintenance method:

1. The iron core is not inserted tightly: The iron yoke part is clamped on the vise jaws and the jaws are clamped so that the tightness of the iron core can be directly observed. At this time, insert the silicon steel sheet of the same specification until it is securely inserted. Reconnect the 220V power supply and test with the rated load until it is completely silent.

2. The power supply voltage is too high and the core vibration sounds: Since it is not a transformer fault, it can be judged simply by detecting the power supply voltage with the multimeter's AC voltage block. When there is a single-phase voltage regulator, a voltage regulator can be used to reduce the power supply voltage to 220V and send it to the primary side of the transformer for testing, such as noise cancellation, indicating that the power supply voltage is too high. If the sound is still there, it can be caused by other reasons.

3. Vibration caused by heavy load or short circuit: Cut off the suspect secondary output circuit and add rated load to the other secondary windings of the transformer. If the fault is eliminated, the problem must be in the original secondary circuit or load. At this time, only Check the external circuit.
