Recently, MODEC announced that its subsidiary SOFEC has received a contract from TechnipFMC and JGC joint venture to supply the turret mooring system for the Coral South FLNG project led by Eni. 
The contract primarily provides engineering, procurement and construction for the main internal turret mooring system of the Coral South FLNG project. The FLNG facility will be moored to a depth of 2,000 meters in the Mozambique waters of Africa and will be designed to produce 3.4 million tons of LNG per year. The turret mooring will allow the FLNG facility to adapt to the weather and avoid production downtime.
SOFEC will be responsible for the engineering, procurement and construction of internal turret mooring systems and accessories, as well as assisting with system integration and commissioning, including turret mooring systems (mooring legs, mechanical connectors and anchors). Piles and fluid transfer systems (pipes, swivels, safety and control).
