Recently, Shell and Carnival Group signed a supply agreement to supply LNG fuel to two cruise ships that will be in service before 2019.
The Carnival is building the first seven cruise ships that are fully powered by LNG. Previously, the company's "AIDAprima" cruise ship had been able to use LNG fuel during the port, but the ship did not have gas storage capacity.
One of the cruise ships in the agreement will be supplemented by LNG fuel from Shell's LNG fuel tanker in Rotterdam, and the other will be LNG fueled at a port in the western Mediterranean.
