It was learned from the Defective Product Management Center of the State Administration of Markets and Administration that Beijing Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. filed a record with the State Administration of Market Supervision in accordance with the Regulations on the Management of Defective Automobile Product Recall and the Implementation Measures for the Management of Defective Automobile Product Recall Regulations. The recall plan will recall some E-class cars produced from July 12, 2016 to June 22, 2017, starting from May 25, 2018, for a total of 860 vehicles.

On the long-wheelbase E-class vehicle partially equipped with the rear side airbag in the recall range, the main harness may be squeezed by the rear side airbag bracket and cause the harness to be damaged. Once the harness is broken, some of the vehicle's functions will be affected. If the power of the fuel pump is interrupted, the vehicle will lose power; if the harness responsible for the side curtain, side airbag or rear belt tensioner is damaged, the relevant protection function will be affected; if the harness is short-circuited, it will not be excluded. The risk of fire is a safety hazard. Beijing Benz Automobile Co., Ltd. will put felt on the side airbag bracket of the vehicle within the recall range to avoid contact between the bracket and the harness, and check the harness, and if it is damaged, repair it to eliminate the safety hazard.
