In 2010, the total import value of China's metal processing machine tools reached new record high

The sustained and rapid growth of China's economy, and the demand for machine tool products, are driving the development of China's machine tool industry, while also stimulating the rapid growth of imports of machine tool products. From January to November 2010, China's total imports of metal processing machine tools and tools reached US$13.98 billion, an increase of 60.0% year-on-year. Among them, metal processing machine tools imported 8.36 billion US dollars, an increase of 56.97%; metal processing machine exports 1.64 billion US dollars, an increase of 35.54%. It is estimated that the total import volume of metal processing machine tools in 2010 will surely exceed 9 billion U.S. dollars, surpassing 7.587 billion U.S. dollars in 2008 and setting a record high.

Previously, the highest value of China's total import and export trade of metal processing machines appeared in 2008, which was US$9.306 billion. In 2009, under the impact of the financial crisis, total imports and exports shrank to US$7.217 billion. In 2010, China's total import and export volume of metal processing machine tools will exceed 10 billion U.S. dollars.
