Centrifugal pump installation method

1. The key to the installation of centrifugal pumps is to determine the pump installation height (ie suction stroke). This height refers to the vertical distance from the source water surface to the centerline of the pump impeller. It must not be confused with the allowable vacuum height. The vacuum height allowed on the water pump product specification or on the nameplate indicates the vacuum value at the inlet section of the water pump. It is measured under the condition of 1 standard atmospheric pressure and water temperature of 20 degrees Celsius. It does not consider the flow conditions after suction. The installation height should be the part of the value left after allowing the vacuum height to be deducted from the loss of the suction line and it will overcome the actual topographic suction height. The installation height of the centrifugal pump must not exceed the calculated value. Otherwise, the pump will not pump water.

2. The size of the influential calculated value is the resistance loss head of the suction pipe. Therefore, the shortest pipe layout should be adopted, and fittings such as elbows should be installed as small as possible, and pipes with some calibers can also be appropriately allocated to reduce the flow rate in the pipe.

3. It should be noted that when the elevation and the water temperature of the centrifugal pump installation site are different from the test conditions, if the local elevation is more than 300 meters or the pumped water temperature exceeds 20 degrees Celsius, the calculated value shall be corrected. That is, the atmospheric pressure at different elevations and the saturated vapor pressure above the water temperature of 20 degrees Celsius. However, when the water temperature is below 20 degrees Celsius, the saturated steam pressure is negligible.

4. From the pipe installation technology, the suction pipe requires a strict seal, can not leak, leak, otherwise it will damage the vacuum at the pump inlet, so that the water pump to reduce the amount of water, even in serious water can not pump. Therefore, we must do a good job in the interface of the pipeline to ensure the construction quality of the pipeline connection.
