Fraunhofer Bavaria electric vehicle research and development center (Fraunhofer R & D Center for Electromobility Bavaria) is developing a cost-effective sensor system, can be integrated directly into the battery, designed to measure the battery power and accuracy to be higher than the current market Battery management system.
Insufficient battery management system
The battery management system measures the charge of each cell based on current and voltage. Since the current of the system is based on default values, it is prone to errors. For frequent partial charges and specific battery types, it may not be possible to accurately measure the battery's charge value. In addition, the above system will consume a portion of the battery's own power.
Ultrasonic pulse detection is more accurate
The Fraunhofer Institute for Silence (IS) uses ultrasonic pulses to test the state of charge of the battery. The energy density of the negative electrode changes with the state of charge and discharge of the cell, and the estimated value of the battery power can be directly measured from the parameter.
The advantages of this method are many: due to the linear relationship between battery power and measurement signals, the evaluation method is simpler and more accurate. The test unit can monitor several batteries at the same time, and can detect the battery power during charging and discharging without permanent control, saving energy and saving money.
Since the ultrasonic signal is directly related to the mechanical properties of the battery core, the aging of the battery material is also taken into account, so that the value of the remaining power is more accurate, thereby more accurately showing the performance of the battery.
The new sensor system is suitable for all types of batteries, and lithium-ion batteries are the best. Applications for this equipment include electric vehicles, stationary energy storage systems and drones.

(6) Used as lubricant in PVC film, masterbatch , prpofile, pipe and rubber&plastic industry, to increase the products flexible, surface smoothness and the finished products ratio.
